About
Born and raised on the coast of Honduras by a lineage of matriarch seamstresses and shoemakers, Tania was hand sketching on her bedroom walls at an early age - “five-foot women's’ croquis in runway poses with fashionable clothing mimicking my mom’s clothing.” Her mother would paint over them, and she would start again.
She studied her grandmother’s perfect dressmaking including all her school uniforms. She learned to use the sewing machine and began adjusting her wardrobe by age six.
T.K MARTINEZ was founded in 2019 as a love for craftsmanship, and a continuation of the love of service to women - experiencing that age-old joy of getting dressed, and providing that perfect-time- feeling effortless with a hint of poetry. Inspired by her father who was an activist, Tania has been motivated to bring values of sustainability, social equality, indigenous rights and female empowerment into her brand.
Tania and her family live and work in Austin, Texas, where she and her husband Tom met in the tech industry in the early ’90s. They share extensive experience in Digital Transformation, Product development, and Sales Strategy. They bring thirty years of experience to T.K MARTINEZ.
Tania has trained in the art of Italian pattern making as well as Alta Moda sewing side by side with Dior master pattern makers and creator of “CATA MOD” Italian pattern making technique.
Inspired by her father who was an activist, Tania has been motivated to bring values of social equality and female empowerment into her brand.
As a recipient of a fashion sustainability scholarship at world-renowned Istituto Marangoni, Tania hopes to acquire important skills with a Master of Arts in Luxury Fashion Brand Management.
